Observing Fire Prevention Month
This year’s FPW campaign, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!” works to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe. This simple exercise has been proven to save lives.
Did you know?
In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out.
Your escape plan should include everyone in your home or office. Remember to check doors to see if they are hot before opening, crawl low to stay below the smoke, and close doors behind you to slow the spread of the fire. Sound your alarm and practice you home fire drill today!
